Roof Surveys & Condition Reports

Roof surveys and condition reports are essential evaluations designed to assess the current state of a roof and its components.

A comprehensive survey is crucial for several reasons.

1

Assessment of Existing Waterproofing

It provides a detailed evaluation of the existing waterproofing, helping identify whether the roof is warm, cold, or inverted. This information is vital for making informed maintenance or replacement decisions.

2

Compliance with Regulations

Ensuring the roof meets building regulations and local standards is a key part of the survey. Compliance guarantees the building's safety and legality.

3

Functionality Check

The survey assesses the roof's functionality, including drainage and insulation efficiency. It helps determine if insulation should be replaced or can be overlaid.

4

Survey of Roof

The survey conducted assesses the existing roof build-up and condition. Additional advice and recommendations are provided to ensure a durable refurbishment waterproofing system is provided.

The survey process includes visual inspections and core sampling, allowing accurate determination of the roof’s build-up and condition. The findings are documented in a condition report sent to the client, outlining the roof’s state and necessary actions.

MOY’s technical team, covering Ireland, the UK, and Europe, brings extensive expertise in flat roofing waterproofing. We use visual inspections and core sampling to provide a clear understanding of the roof’s build-up and condition, whilst ensuring compliance with current building regulations, evaluating drainage and falls, and assessing insulation efficiency.

Additionally, the survey includes visual analysis of the existing deck, and where applicable pull-out testing, in order to advise if the condition is suitable to accommodate the new roofing works. This will not include a structural survey to check it the deck is able to withstand the new loads, as this should always be determined by a qualified Structural Engineer. A detailed condition report is prepared and sent to the client, facilitating informed decisions on roof maintenance or replacement.
