Harbourside at Waterside Marina is an elegant new development consisting of 53 luxury apartments, offering one-, two, and three-bedroom options, alongside 5 spacious houses. Nestled in the heart of the marina at Brightlingsea, these exquisite apartments are arranged around a meticulously landscaped courtyard, providing residents with a serene and picturesque environment.
The project faced several challenges, primarily related to the installation of a high-quality waterproofing system under the hard landscaping of the podium courtyard. Key challenges included ensuring the system could support the surrounding tenant activities, addressing the limited storage space for materials on-site, and meeting the specific loading requirements for the courtyard area. Additionally, it was crucial to develop a specification that aligned with the project’s schedule while maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of the courtyard.
To overcome these challenges, the Moy BBA certified Paralon modified-bitumen waterproofing system was specified. This solution was ideal for the hard landscaping application, providing robust and reliable waterproofing to the podium courtyard, ensuring it remained fully accessible and visually appealing for tenants.
Moy worked closely with the project management team to develop a tailored specification for this podium project. This collaboration addressed the programme’s demands, the restricted site storage, and the necessary loading requirements.
